NASA Armstrong Flight Research Centre recently uploaded a video of a 1984 controlled impact demonstration.

A Boeing 720 was crashed to test a fuel additive to suppress fire.

The additive had previously shown the capability to inhibit ignition and flame propagation.

While the test caused a cabin fire, research from the program did help in establishing future safety rules.
