Woman's Pug Bears an Uncanny Resemblance to Popular Movie Character

Sometimes people say that animals can look like humans or other animals, and Loulou the Pug sure does look like a movie character that we all know and love! Loulou's mom shared a video at the beginning of March that highlights the resemblance and while it's only 5 seconds long, it went immediately viral.

In the video we see Loulou, a senior-aged Pug laying on her stomach. The only thing visible is her cute little head and her floppy little ears. Watch what happens when mom moves her ears around...does she look like anybody that you know from Star Wars?

So what do you think? There's definitely a strong resemblance between this adorable Pug and Baby Yoda! I've never even seen the movies with Baby Yoda in them, but as soon as Loulou's mom started playing with her ears I knew exactly who she looked like! Commenters left more than a whopping 21 thousand comments on the viral video (it's been viewed more than 40 million times), and I had a couple of favorites. @Millie Moo11 shared, "Mom: Why do I hear Yoda, Frenchie, Pug on repeat? Me: LOOK!" and the official @Star Wars account even left a comment, "This is for me specifically."

Differences Between Frenchies and Pugs

Most people either love or dislike French Bulldogs and Pugs. I don't know much about them other than they look the same. I decided to do a quick search to see what I could find about the differences between the two, and there are many. The popular pet blog Hepper broke down some of them.

The first big difference has to do with their ears, "While the Pug and the French Bulldog have buggy eyes and a flat face, there is one noticeable difference. Pugs have rounded, floppy ears. French Bulldogs have the famous “bat ears” that stand naturally erect and are usually quite large in proportion to their heads." Their tails are also different: Frenchies have a short, straight tail and Pugs have adorable curly, pig-like tails.

Pugs are more low-key than Frenchies, who are known for their athleticism. Hepper says, "The spunkiness of a French Bulldog can cause it to be less compatible with other pets or small children." French Bulldogs also have a shorter lifespan than that of Pugs. They live an average of 9-11 years while Pugs can live 12-14 years.

Another interesting fact about Frenchies is that they cannot get pregnant organically, and females have to undergo artificial insemination. This of course leads to a higher price tag on Frenchies than Pugs, who can get pregnant on their own. The average cost of a French Bulldog is $2,200 while a Pug is $600-$1,500.

Whichever you choose, make sure to do your own research on each breed to see if they one your considering is a good fit for your family.
