Water-Loving Labradors Are Totally Unfazed by Mom's Orders to Exit the Pool
There's no such thing as an emergency around dogs. Unless something's on fire, they aren't going to exactly understand panic or urgency. As one woman learned the worst way possible, when she tried to herd her two Goldens out of the swimming pool during a tornado warning.
It wasn't just a case of bad timing — the dogs actually decided to go swimming once the rain started.
The video from @bustersworld shows the two Golden Retriever's splashing around, having a grand old time. Meanwhile their mom is having a full-on freak out and couldn't seem to get them to come in.

"Get out of the pool!" she ordered. But nope, they simply ignored her commands. The woman even tried to get her young son to go into the water and nab the pets — but even he couldn't wrangle them. Once she finally did get them outside, they kept running away from her while she tried to towel them off — and then plopped right back in.
"Do not get in that pool again!" she warned before the clip cut off. Something tells us that these two Goldens didn't listen at all.
We're sure the dog mama shared the video looking for a little understanding. But sadly the internet was cheering on her little pups and their disobedient ways! "When you first tell him to get out and he does a foot stomp," wrote one person. "The way he jumps is just so freeing! He’s a naughty but hilarious boy," someone else wrote. "Omg that paw slap to the water! HE WAS TELLING YOU NO!" a third person pointed out. "Buster does not care and there goes the other one behind him," chimed in another commenter.
Protecting Your Dog in a Tornado
Look, this dog mom might not have totally had a handle on the situation, but she did have the right instinct. If there is a tornado warning, you want to bring your dogs in right away. No belly flops in the pool or time for laps!
You'll want to prepare your family's shelter and make it pet-friendly. You don't know how long you'll be there for, so make sure you have food, a bed, some pee pads, and a carrier or leash in case you need to leave.
Keeping your dog calm is a whole other issue. They'll feel best with you, but if that's not possible you'll want to keep them in a windowless interior room until all is clear.
It's a situation that no one really wants to think about, but having a plan will make you feel just a little more in control and might just keep your dog safe.
