This is the shocking moment a Mercedes-Benz A-Class smashed into a garage at a family home.

Footage showed the car crashing into the building in Littleover, Derby, at around 8pm last Sunday.

Three teenagers are seen emerging from the vehicle, with one collapsing to the ground.

Police said the driver, 19, and a passenger were taken to hospital.

Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing, a statement added.

The property’s owner Sukie Singh, 50, wasn't at home during the crash.

However, his wife and daughter were inside the house and immediately rushed to assist the teenagers.

Singh said: “My wife and daughter were at home in kitchen and heard a smash – their first concern was the driver and passenger.

“I was on the way back from London when I got a phone call from my daughter saying someone had crashed into the garage.”

He added: “I was aware no one was hurt but I was thinking about the damage the had been done to my garage and contents and having to clear it all up.”

Derbyshire Police said: "We were called to reports of a collision in Manor Road, Littleover, at just after 8pm on Sunday 30 July.

"The collision involved a Mercedes A-Class which had collided with a garage at a property, causing significant damage.

"The driver of the Mercedes, a 19-year-old man, and a passenger from the vehicle, also in his teens, were taken to the Royal Derby Hospital.”
