Watch: Incredible moment dog owners save their pet from becoming dinner for huge snake

This is the dramatic moment a group of boys in China battled with a giant snake who was trying to kill their pet dog.

The three brave boys armed themselves with sticks and a metal pole as they desperately tried to pull the boa constrictor from the body of the dog.

The snake had wrapped itself around the animal and gripped harder as it attempted to suffocate the dog so it could eat it.

Despite the chaos and risk of death, the pooch appeared relatively calm during the ordeal – perhaps due to the overwhelming terror of what was unfolding.

The battle between man and serpent was eventually won and the snake was successfully pulled off the dog, which wasted no time in running away.

The clip ends with one of the boys holding the snake up by its head.

People watching the video on Facebook were quick to praise the boys for their bravery.

One person wrote: ‘The things we would do for our furry friends, very brave of the lads, delighted to see the dog escaped unharmed.’

Another added: ‘Those kids should get recognition for their bravery and the love they’ve shown to their dog.’

It is not clear where the death-defying footage was filmed.

Boa constrictors can reach lengths of up to 13ft and wrap themselves around their prey before devouring them whole.
