Man Who Helped Rescue Deer From Lake Says He's Facing Game Commission Fine

A Pennsylvania man who took home a deer he’d helped rescue from a lake to help it recover is facing a possible citation from the state Game Commission, the York Dispatch has reported.The deer was one of several rescued from a lake in Gifford Pinchot State Park on January 12.In a Facebook video posted live on January 14, John Stoll Jr, of Wellsville, said that he was going to be fined for taking the deer.The deer died and was buried at Stoll’s Jr property, he said.A Pennsylvania Game Commission spokesman did not comment about the case on Tuesday, January 15, the York Dispatch said.Speaking about the general policy of the commission, the spokesman, Travis Lau, said: “All wildlife in Pennsylvania is protected […] In the case of injured animals, they only ever go to licensed wildlife rehabilitators.” Credit: John Stoll Jr & Terri Warble Stoll via Storyful
