Multiple bushfires blazed across Tasmania’s southwest on Thursday, January 24, creating mounting concerns for vegetation areas with high conservation value.The Celtic Hill fire had been burning since January 16, according to ABC, and continued to burn strong, with fire hazard conditions expected to worsen on Friday. They reported the fire was creeping closer towards “iconic” vegetative areas within Tasmania’s World Heritage Area.“The remoteness and rugged terrain just some of the challenges when faced with a fire like this.
