A Democratic candidate for Congress in Delaware is facing backlash after she was caught on a home-security camera taking her opponent’s campaign literature and replacing it with her own on October 21.Randy J. Smith shared footage on Facebook of Democratic candidate Monique Johns arriving at Smith’s door in Middletown. She removes Republican incumbent Kevin Hensley’s campaign flier and then replaces it with her own flier, taking Hensley’s with her. Smith shared footage of Hensley leaving his material prior to Johns. “That is messed up and she should be ashamed,” one user posted.Johns commented on the incident on her Facebook page, saying she did take her opponent’s campaign literature. “This was a lapse of judgment that I humbly regret. Please forgive me. I won’t make any excuses for this action. I have apologized to my opponent, my supporters, and now I apologize to the voters of the 9th Representative District,” she posted.
