Boris Johnson wins Conservative Party leadership election

Boris Johnson has been elected as new leader of the Conservative Party with 92,153 votes to Jeremy Hunt’s 46,656. The result was announced at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster. The former foreign secretary and Mayor of London will be confirmed as prime minister on Wednesday.
