Anti-Trump protesters marched in the border town of El Paso, Texas, to rally against the president’s controversial plan to build a wall along the US-Mexico border. The protesters marched the streets of El Paso and staged a rally near Bowie High School, just metres from the president’s own event at the El Paso County Coliseum. In these videos, filmed by Greg Reese, protesters can be seen gathering, marching the streets, chanting and brandishing signs that read “Together we rise”, “Stop the wall, Stop the lies”, and “Onward together”.Later that evening, former democratic congressmen Beto O’Rourke led a rally at Chalio Acosta Park where he slammed Trump’s border wall and spoke of immigration and cultural diversity.“With the eye of the country upon us, all of us together are going to make our stand,” O’Rourke said in his speech.“Here in one of the safest cities in the United States of America. Safe not because of walls, but in spite of walls. Secure because we treat one another with dignity and respect. That is how we make our communities and our country safe.”Prior to his own rally, Trump mocked O’Rourke’s counter protest:“We have a line that is very long already, I mean you see what’s going on and I understand our competitor’s got a line too but it’s a tiny little line,” Trump said in a interview with media covered by CNN.
