11 rescued after two weeks in underground China mine
Eleven workers trapped for two weeks inside a Chinese gold mine have beenbrought safely to the surface. State broadcaster CCTV showed workers beinghauled up one by one in baskets on Sunday afternoon, their eyes shielded toprotect them after so many days in darkness. Some brought their hands togetherin gratitude and many appeared almost too weak to stand. They were swiftlycovered in coats in freezing temperatures and loaded into ambulances.
