The family of Josh Hanson, Tracey and Brooke Hanson give a statement outside the Old Bailey following the sentencing of Shane O’Brien. Tracey Hanson began to cry as she said the last four years have been a living nightmare, and that the family can now begin to grieve now that the trial is over. Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh, of Scotland Yard, also added he was happy with the sentencing of a minimum of 26 years, adding in his statement about the lengths the police had gone to, to capture O'Brien, in an international three-year manhunt. Shane O’Brien slashed the neck of Josh Hanson before fleeing the UK in a private plane, he later became one of Britain’s most wanted fugitives evading justice for three and a half years. He has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 26 years after being found guilty of Mr Hanson’s murder after an Old Bailey jury deliberated for 55 minutes.
