Andre Gray: Kids affected by knife crime are 'trapped' by their environments

The Premier League footballer Andre Gray has spoken about his own experiences with gang violence at a launch event with the Wickers Charity. The organisation will be running a 'Bikes Up, Knives Down' campaign bus through Notting Hill Carnival with the BMX star Ryan Taylor. Grey was stabbed in the face in 2011 in Wolverhampton, and save it was football that saved him. The group of young people all wore stab vests to show their support for the campaign. The anti-knife crime charity, The Wickers, provides a safe haven for youngsters in Hackney, East London.
