Vicky McClure has shone a rare light on her "instant" love for her husband Jonny Owen when they first met.
Often keeping her private life out of the limelight, the Trigger Point actor rarely speaks about her love life with her husband on TV or in interviews. But when they appeared on Loose Women together on Tuesday, the Line of Duty star spilled all about how they first fell in love over the phone.
During the TV interview, the leading star also revealed that the couple had moved in with each other after just a week of romance.
What, how and why?
Ever the romantic, McClure said: "I mean, for me, it was like it was instant. And then we pretty much moved in a week later."
Falling in love over the phone, McClure remembered what it was like when fate first brought them together. "So he rang me and well, I got a call off my agent saying 'you've been offered this film'. I read it, and then I looked at the YouTube.
"I already read it and I went, 'Can I speak to this Johnny'. And you know, honestly, it's so funny, though. Cos I did that whole, 'Yeah, I don't like to argue' and you know, 'I'm just a chill and I really like this kind of music'. And Johnny was like, 'Yeah, I'm really romantic. I'm all about love.'"
She joked: "I mean, we stretched the truth a bit, you know? And you're like, 'Nah, I don't mind a good argument' and 'I’m not running you a bath, run it for yourself'."
They shocked the world with the joyous news that they had got married in August last summer. The newly weds shared a few gorgeous glimpses of their ceremony on social media at the time.
Vicky and Jonny's new venture
Worlds away from acting, now the couple have embarked on a new venture. It is essentially a club in the daytime for the over 30s. Owen explained the idea to the Loose Women panel on Tuesday saying: "We thought let's put something on in the afternoon for people over 30. That’s the idea, that you know you can get home safe."
They held the first event in Sheffield and they put a few extra people on the bar to find afterwards what a success it had been. Owen added: "And afterwards, there's record takings. They were like, 'You lot like a drink'."
The music is all the classic hits. McClure said, "Personally, when I go out I want to dance to music that I know. If you're anywhere and all of a sudden Whitney is on 'I Want To Dance With Somebody', all of sudden I burst into dance."
