'Unexpected Visitor' Turns Up in Australian Woman's Home After She Leaves the Door Open

Life in Australia is really, really different. It's not all Hemsworth brothers and Vegemite, you know. Just take a look at a video one woman shared on the internet, which shows the totally crazy thing that happens when she leaves her front door open for even a little bit.

We guess this is a normal day down under because the woman in the video seemed completely unfazed.

The clip from @jesk025 shows the woman walking around her home after leaving the door open for "only a minute." She turned the corner into her kitchen and what should she find? A kangaroo.

"Are you kidding me? Where are you going?" she asked the 'roo as it started to hop away. "Have you made a good choice? I don't think you have."

She managed to get the animal to leave, but what's really impressive is that she didn't seem scared or freaked out in the slightest. In fact, she might have even known this little guy. In the caption she called him "Frankie." Maybe it's like when you name a stray cat who always comes to your house?

People in the comments section were relieved. Knowing some of the critters in Australia it could've been so much worse. "Much cuter than the snake I was expecting," wrote one person. "I saw 'Meanwhile in Australia' and was waiting for a huge Huntsman Spider to appear or run across the floor," joked someone else. "You're better than me you would’ve thought the kangaroo distribution center chose me and I would keep him," a third commenter kidded. "I thought it was gonna be a spider the size of a dog," another person admitted.

All About Kangaroos

Is it possible that kangaroos are roaming around Australia suburbs? Well not exactly. The animals are native to Australia, but tend to live on Australian deserts and grasslands. These animals live in groups called troops or herds of about 50 animals and are pretty darn neat.

Some other fun facts: Kangaroos can travel at 56km/h and can leap more than 9m in a single bound. Pretty cool! One thing that helps 'roos as they make these leaps are their small front legs and long tails. These help kangaroos find balance as they jump from place to place. Kangaroos are also the tallest marsupials and used can be about two meters tall.

Hmmm, come to think of it. We guess finding a kangaroo in the house isn't so bad.
