There are a few things you can do to increase your chances of retrieving a lost item.

If you go back to the gate and tell the employee on duty your seat number they may be able to go back to the plane and have a look.

The next step would be to go to the office at baggage claim. Typically lost items will be sent there once found on the plane.

If that doesn't work you may be asked to fill out a form and report the lost item.

Keep on top of this and call them regularly to monitor progress.

If it's a piece of technology that you've left behind then chances are there will be some kind of tracking device you can access.

This way you will be able to tell where the item is and if it was taken off the plane.
