The single picture - now liked over 51,000 times and shared 23,000 times - was snapped after the trio of tourists had been visiting the recent "Golden Week" national holiday in China.

But while on their way back, the three Chinese women with ridiculously swollen faces and bandages around their heads were detained by South Korean immigration officers at passport control.

Suspicious package found in man's BOXER SHORTS turned out to be bag of cocaine strapped to his privates

Despite having all their tickets and documents ready, the trio were simply unable to prove that they were the same people in the passport photos because the cosmetic treatment had left their faces extremely swollen and altered.

The snap that has attracted over 30,000 comments shows them with passports in hand waiting impatiently in the immigration office.

It is currently unclear when and if the women were allowed to return to China.

South Korea has become a top plastic surgery destination for Chinese women in the past decade and a half.

Popular packages even include cosmetic treatments in South Korea followed by safari trips in Africa where their faces can heal without being noticed.

It comes after 'Human Ken Doll' Rodrigo Alves revealed he was once stopped by border police and detained for hours because of his surgically sculpted face.

Rodrigo revealed that security agents stopped him when he flew in to Dubai airport because they didn't believe he was the same man as the one in his passport picture.

The guards held him for three hours before letting him through.
