Mel Gibson is selling his stunning Costa Rica hideaway for £23 million.

The beautiful resort sits on 403 acres of privately-owned jungle in a remote area of Costa Rica's Nicoya Peninsula.

As well as the main house, there are two other villas on the property, each of which are nestled on a hilltop overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

There's also two miles of private white-sand beach, Playa Barrigona, which sees olive ridley sea turtles travel thousands of miles across the Pacific each year to lay their eggs.

According to homesandproperty.co.uk, the Hollywood star found the property while location scouting for his film Apocalpyto, about the Mayan kingdom, back in 2006.

This is just one of the properties in Mel's extensive portfolio, which also includes homes in Australia, as well as owning a private island in Fiji.

The actor is also selling his five-bedroom home in Malibu for $17 million after he bought it from David Duchovny in 2008 for $11.5 million.
