Two bottles of wine broken on unruly first-class passenger's head

A first-class passenger was arrested after attacking a flight attendant on a Delta Air Lines flight.

The 23-year-old man from Florida tried to open an emergency exit door 45 minutes into the flight from Seattle to Beijing.

When the flight attendant tried to stop him, Joseph Hudek IV threw a punch.

One passenger told KIRO 7 News: "They broke two bottles of wine on his head. I tried to choke him and he just threw me off like a rag doll."

According to the Miami Herald, the flight attendant and another person were injured and taken to hospital.

Hudek had only one beer on the flight and did not appear intoxicated. The incident happened after Hudek reportedly used the toilet.

Delta spokesman Michael Thomas said in a statement: "The passenger was restrained on board and was removed from the flight by law enforcement without further incident when the aircraft arrived back in Seattle."

The motive for the attack was unclear but the FBI said the incident is not thought to be a national security threat.
