This is the terrifying moment train commuters saw a woman walk in front of a train but then vanish in front of them.
Witnesses now believe the woman is a ghost as there was no sign of her on the tracks and none of her running off.
Onlookers expected to see the woman's body after she threw herself in front of the packed commuter service .
But there was no sign of her when the train pulled out of Ghatkopar Station in eastern Mumbai.
Railway chiefs think the unnamed woman, who they say probably intended to take her own life, may have walked away from the tracks unharmed.
The woman can be seen waiting on the platform
But many who have seen the CCTV video of the incident are convinced they are watching footage of a ghost.
The eerie clip shows the train pulling into a busy station, with the woman standing at the far end of the platform.
She is wearing a sari and edges herself perilously close to the edge of the platform.
As the train approaches, she calmly drops on to the rails.
Commuters rush to help but find no sign of her
The woman can be seen disappearing under the train as the driver slams on the brakes.
By the time the train comes to a halt, the front carriage has already gone over her - or so it seemed.
Commuters rushed to the front of the train, hoping that they could save the woman.
They were unable to spot her so the driver pulled the train out of the station, expecting her body to be lying somewhere on the rails.
But mysteriously no one was able to find a trace of the woman.
