Heroic cyclist rescues runaway dog

Walking your dog is meant to be a relaxing experience but, as this video shows, that's not always the case.

The footage shows an epic chase that took place in Mexico City after a tiny dog on a lead seems to have escaped the clutches of its owner.

The miniature pooch can be seen racing down the road, darting between multiple lines of traffic, while a dedicated rescuer is hot on his heels on a bike.

Despite trying to corral the dog onto the pavement and shouting at passers by to catch him, it's not until minutes later that a workman on the side of the road manages to put an end to the little guy's escapade.

The most astonishing part of the story is that the hero cyclist who risked his own safety isn't even the dog's owner!
