The post reads: "Alright guys it's about time we played another game of spot the snake! This particular animal was relocated from a home in Buderim earlier this morning!

"Make sure to also name the species!"

A number of eagle-eyed users spotted the reptile straight away.

One wrote: "Carpet python 4 row up in between the second box in".

Another added: "Or 2nd choice, Spotted Python. Known in that area."

Lockie Gilding at Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 told Sunshine Coast Daily that the 6ft carpet python had been in the garage for several days.

"It was originally sitting outside the garage door and he went to get his friend to show him the snake. When they came back the snake was gone," he said.

The homeowner assumed it had gone but Mr Gilding said: "It was a couple of days later (when I was called) - the snake had been in there hanging out for a couple of days and during the night had been knocking things of the shelves."

Carpet pythons are often found near homes in Queensland where they perform the useful service of eating rats and other vermin.
