A luxury resort in Mexico has been named the world's best designed hotel for its flawless interior and exterior design.

The Chablé Resort & Spa, located in Chocholá, Yucatan, was awarded the prestigious Prix Versailles, an annual recognition handed out by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the International Union of Architects.
Designed by Jorge Borja and Paulina Morán, the unique resort is located around a cenote and features 38 suites and two villas.
Part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, the Chablé Resort & Spa is described as "a luxurious spa retreat made for 21st-century getaways."
With private villas dotted across 750 acres, it "promises total tranquillity.
The SLH website says: "At first glance, the stone walls and tropical gardens that encircle Chablé Resort & Spa will make you wonder if you've stumbled across an ancient Mayan temple."
