A property expert told the newspaper: "David wanted to give her that gift of privacy to mark two decades since they first started dating, a place where she can be totally relaxed.

"They love being on Sir Richard Branson's Necker Island, so for David this was the next logical step."

The Grenadines Collection has the island listed for sale at a whopping $8.9 million and describes Bird Cay as offering "4.75 miles of water frontage, sandy beaches, clear crystal waters, proximity to the US, perfect climate, lush tropical vegetation and level land that has already been developed to a degree and requires additional development."

It adds: "Bird Cay is protected by nearby islands such as Chub Cay which also offers nearby marina and restaurant facilities. Located in the centre of the South Berry Island Marine Reserve Bird Cay is a well protected island retreat."

The listing states that the island comes with a large two-storey dwelling and swimming pool which are in "need of redevelopment".
