Jaguar shot 18 times makes miraculous recovery

A baby jaguar found paralyzed in the Ecuadorian jungle is now making a remarkable recovery.

Rescuers say D'Yaria was probably shot by farmers trying to protect their cattle and they believe the shooter was successful in killing her mother.

Luckily the 11-month-old jaguar was found before it was too late.

She was taken to an animal hospital in Quito, where x-rays showed she had 18 shotgun pellets lodged in her neck and back.

Rescuers say she could move her head, but she couldn't walk and probably would have starved to death if she wasn't found in time.
