It may not come as a huge surprise to some, but London has been named the least friendly place in Britain in a new study.

Provident Personal Credit surveyed 2.642 people and residents were asked to rate on a scale of one to 10 how they felt within their community.

People were asked about eight separate factors, including how clean and safe an area was, to how welcoming and friendly the locals are.

According to the Metro, London scored 6.44 out of 10 on friendliness, pinching the 'unfriendliest' title from Oxford, Portsmouth and Chelmsford.

York was named the friendliest place in the UK, scoring 7.47, with Gloucester in second and Swansea in third.

London didn't fare very well in a number of categories, and was also the third least safe and third least happy place in Britain. However, we're sure many people would disagree. What do you think?
