Meteor captured on police dashcam

Weatherford Police Department in Texas has released dashcam footage which shows a bright meteor shooting across the sky.

The video was posted to the police department's Facebook page at the beginning of the week.

The footage was captured while Officer Tiffany Vanzant was driving over a viaduct.

They wrote: "Officer Vanzant had a front row seat to a truly spectacular sight and thanks to her in-car camera and a little movie making magic, we want to share it with everyone.

"It is important to note that there were no space aliens hurt in the making of this video!"
