Baby hippo rescued from mud pool


An adorable baby hippo's life was saved after spending several days stranded alone in a thick mud pool.

Humpty was spotted in the fast-drying mud swamp after being abandoned by her mother.

Rescuers pulled her to safety with a huge net.



Rescuers waded through knee deep mud to reach Humpty in a daring rescue shared by Caters News.

The hippo was found to be dehydrated, sunburnt and barely able to move and is now being cared for by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
