Unexploded WW2 bomb found in Portsmouth Harbour

Authorities in UK have announced that a 500-pound World War II German bomb was recently found at Portsmouth Harbour and was subsequently taken out to sea for a controlled detonation.

The SC250 bomb was found in the early hours in the excavator head of a barge dredging the harbour.

The harbour was closed as soon as the explosive was found.

The bomb was towed away from the harbour, lowered to the sea bed and was detonated in a controlled explosion
