The beautiful region of the Algarve as been named as the cheapest holiday destination worldwide for the second year running in the Post Office's annual Holiday Money Report.

In its worldwide survey of prices for tourist staples in popular resorts and cities, Post Office Travel Money has found that the holiday purse is likely to stretch furthest in European hotspots.
In a year when value for money will be the destination decider for many holidaymakers, the Worldwide Holiday Costs Barometer of 44 resorts and cities has found that Europe takes nine of the top 10 best value places.
The Post Office barometer compares the price of eight tourist items, including dinner for two with wine, a range of drinks, suncream and insect repellent.
The total cost of these items comes out cheapest in the Algarve. Average costs of a cup of tea came out at 65p, a bottle of water is 32p, while a glass of wine is just £1.31.
Tokyo, Cancun and Cape Town were the only long-haul destinations to make it into the top 12 best value getaways for Brits.
In the cheapest holidays in Americas & Caribbean list, Lima in Peru came out top, with Orlando in second and Various in Tobago in at third.
