A little kebab house tucked away in a side street in Angel is currently topping TripAdvisor ratings as the best restaurant in London.
Liman Restaurant, run by young Kurdish couple Niyazi and Berivan Tezik, is beating off Michelin-starred powerhouses like Petrus and Barrafina, according to the Evening Standard.

With Mrs Tezik being a pastry chef and Mr Tezik having worked at the Royal Albert Hall and Sofra in Mayfair, it looks like this couple are stiff competition. And with shish kebabs selling for £9.80, and the cheapest dish, lentil soup, on at £3.90, it's affordable eating too.
Manager Mrs Bicli says the number one spot on TripAdvisor can bring pressure, and that she has to explain to people that "we are not fine-dining, we are not five-star but people search the best restaurant in London and book us without checking anything".
However, they've certainly got five-star reviews on the site, and people are singing its praises.
One guest wrote: "We came into London for a nice meal and we didn't get one; we got a phenomenal meal! This place isn't a 5* hotel restaurant with a Michelin star chef so if that's what you're looking for then go somewhere else, but before you do, ask yourself why this place is ranked #1 out of over 17000 restaurants in London...?"
The Liman nudged The Golden Chippy in Greenwich High Road into number two out of London's 17,694 restaurants on TripAdvisor.
