Spanish police are investigating the death of a British man at Malaga Airport after he was discovered tied to a bench with his trousers pulled down.

Steven Allford, 51, was found by a security guard with his hands and feet tied at 9am on Friday, the Daily Mirror reports.

Detectives are waiting on the results of a post-mortem but suspect he may have been choked to death or sexually assaulted.

Police are trying to determine whether he had missed a flight or had been sleeping rough at the airport.

A police source told the Daily Mail: "There were no obvious signs of violence on his body but the position he was found in suggested foul play."

Horrified tourists watched as Mr Allford's body was put onto a stretcher.

His belongings were found in a trolley next to his body.
