Qantas and Airbnb join forces for new frequent flyer scheme

A major airline is hopping into bed with Airbnb in a groundbreaking new partnership allowing travelers to earn frequent flyer miles when booking their accommodation.

Australian carrier, Qantas is where you'll earn the points. And you aren't limited to staying Down Under, either.

Frequent Flyers will get one Qantas Point for every dollar or equivalent they spend on any of Airbnb's 2.5 million listings across the world when they book their accommodation through the airline's website.

This is the first time the accommodation giant has partnered with a major airline for a deal like this.

For years, travellers could earn miles for booking hotels, but Qantas CEO Alan Joyce knows things are changing these days, saying, "We know many of our customers are just as likely to arrange an Airbnb as they are to book a hotel, and we wanted to recognize and reward them for that."

Airbnb is the wildly popular marketplace for people to list, rent out and book private rooms, entire homes and even castles to travelers.

So if you earn enough Frequent Flyer points for business class, you'll be treated like royalty!
