Two sisters found dead in hotel room on luxury Seychelles holiday

Two sister from Minnesota have died on a "dream" holiday in the Seychelles.

Annie Korkki, 38, and Robin Korkki, 42, were found in bed in their hotel room at the Maia Resort and Spa at Anse Louis on 22 September.

Hotel staff saw the women drinking during the day before they went back to their room at around 8.15pm.

The butler returned to the room at around 8.30am the next day. At around 11am there was still no sign of the girls, so staff entered the room and found them both dead in the bed.

According to Fox9, brother Chris Korkki said the family was "devastated" and "in shock".

He said: "The family is in shock. Everyone is trying to understand and come to terms with what happened.

"We're devastated and saddened and just looking for answers."

According to People magazine, he added: "At this point, the only details we know are the articles flying around online. Two things keep going through my mind: This isn't happening, and we just want answers."

He said the US Embassy and local authorities were investigating, but the cause of sisters' deaths had not yet been discovered.

A preliminary examination conducted by police indicated there were no signs of violence on the women's bodies.

The Daily Mail reports that certain medications found at the scene had been confiscated from the room by police.

The sisters had been on holiday at the resort since 15 September. They had both shared pictures of the holiday on Facebook, calling it "indescribable".

They were both financial high-flyers, with Annie working at JP Morgan in Denver, and Robin at Allston Trading in Chicago.

The sisters' mother and brother Mike, who both live in Colorado, are in the Seychelles looking for answers and working to bring the bodies home.
