Updated

When a baby donkey was attacked by a wild animal, her mother could do little to help.

This is why Animal Aid Unlimited in India had to step in and help Genevieve the donkey and provide the help she needed.

They clarified that the baby donkey was also yellow in colour when she was found because locals had put turmeric powder on her to try and stop the bleeding.

The organisation says she had more than a dozen bite marks all over her body.

The shock from the attack could have killed her, but her mother was there to comfort her.

When rescuers came to take Genevieve away for treatment her mother wasn't going to let her go alone.

They took her with them and she presided over every step of Genevieve's recovery.

From cleaning her off and dressing her wounds, her mother was there every step of the way.

Luckily all the hard work paid of because today, Genevieve is all healed.

Animal Aid Unlimited are based in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. They help the ill or injured unowned street animals that live in the area.
