Lonely Planet has just named its Best in Europe list of destinations for summer 2016 - and the beautiful English county of Warwickshire features in the top ten.

This county, home to the birthplace of Shakespeare, has seen renewed interest this year as the 400th anniversary of the Bard's death is commemorated and Stratford-Upon-Avon is a top-tipped place to visit for this year.

Lonely Planet's list is an eclectic mix of little-known gems such as Extramadura in Spain with some very popular destinations, including Venice.

The Peloponnese in Greece took the top spot and has been named as Europe's top destination for the summer of 2016.
