There's nothing like adorable ducklings being rescued from a drain for a heartwarming video.

A team of firefighters in Auckland were filmed as they made the rescue, with one man reaching down into the drain while another made sure he didn't fall.

He carefully placed the ducklings into a traffic cone as the mother duck anxiously waited on the sidelines.

The Titirangi Volunteer Fire Brigade uploaded the video to YouTube and shared the link on their Facebook page, writing: "Here's a clip that will make you go 'awww'."

After all the ducklings are placed in the cone, the team take them into a park and reunite them with mum in a very cute scene.

They're then filmed happily waddling off together.

Speaking to the BBC, chief officer Randolph Covich said: "The mother duck seemed pretty anxious.

"But we got them all and sent them off into the wild."
