Entries for Landscape Photographer of the Year now open

The tenth Landscape Photographer of the Year competition is now open for entries.

The competition showcases some of the most stunning photographs taken around the country.

Last year's competition encompassed everything ranging from misty tors and dramatic coastlines to craggy peaks and shiny cityscapes.

The awards are open to everyone - with a special class for those under the age of 17.

Photographers taking part in the competition have the chance to win up to £10,000 if their images are successful.

As in previous years, an exhibition of shortlisted and winning entries will premiere in the late autumn. Last year's winner was Dorset-based photographer Andy Farrer who won with a striking shot of the Jurassic Coast under snow.

The Landscape Photographer of the Year is unique in that it celebrates the United Kingdom only, offering photographers worldwide an opportunity to showcase their images of Britain.

There are both adult and junior titles for each of the following four categories: Classic View, Living The View, Your View and Urban View.

All entries to the awards must be uploaded via the competition website, www.take-a-view.co.uk and the closing date is 10 July 2016. Full terms and conditions can be found on the site.
