They say flying makes you fart more but one passenger was forced to take action when they were sat too close to a fellow flyer with a flatulence problem.

The disgruntled passenger was so disturbed by the smell that they wrote a note and handed it to a flight attendant asking them to make an announcement.

"I don't know if you can make an announcement," the desperate appeal for help reads. "But if you can, you should say that whoever is farting in the areas of rows 10 to 12 should definitely see a doctor because they might have ass cancer".

User Garwee20 posted a photo of the note on Reddit and wrote: "My flight attendant mom got this napkin from an upset passenger."

Social media users took to the site to thank Garwee for posting the hilarious note but one asked: "So what is the proper etiquette for farting on a plane?"

Another wrote: "I have definitely been that guy on a flight before. My farts were horrendous, and they just kept coming. Easiest thing to do was to pretend I was sleeping."

One asked: "Did she make the announcement?"

Garwee's answered: "Unfortunately, no."
