Justin Bieber kicked out of Mexican ruins for 'climbing restricted area'

Justin Bieber was "asked to leave" an archaeological site in Mexico after reportedly trying to climb onto ruins at the Mayan attraction in Tulum.

The official of the National Institute of Anthropology and History, who asked not to be named, told Associated Press that the singer was visiting the seaside ruins on Thursday when he was "asked to leave".

Visitors are allowed to climb some of the pre-Hispanic pyramids but there are 'no entry' signs on some ruins that are considered unstable.

Despite Bieber being kicked out, a representative of a native Maya ecotourism camp said days earlier described him as "completely respectful".

Nathalie Leño, the spokeswoman for AllTournative, said the superstar visited earlier in the week and "expressed a lot of interest in the work we do to preserve the environment."

NBC News reports that in 2013, Bieber got into trouble in Brazil after allegedly spraying graffiti. That same year, he was accused of sending bodyguards to attack a photographer outside a nightclub in Argentina.
