Police are currently patrolling the French capital's most famous landmark.

Disneyland Paris said it will stay closed until Tuesday, with Tom Wolber, President of Euro Disney, saying: "We mourn those lost to the horrific attacks in Paris. We pray for the injured and we hold them all in our hearts. As part of France's three-day national mourning period, Disneyland Paris will remain closed through Tuesday 17 November 2015 (included)."

On Saturday, the Paris tourism website stated: "Following the attacks perpetrated on 13 November in Paris, three days of national mourning have been decreed.

"Almost all tourist sites and activities are closed today: museums, department stores, parks and gardens...

"Public transport is operating as usual."

Speaking to Press Association, Belgian tourist Reda Jouibli said the decision to close the Eiffel Tower reflected the sombre mood in Paris.

"It is almost funereal," the 18-year-old said. "It's dark, like it is in mourning. This feels really strange being here and hardly being able to see the Eiffel Tower."
