Commuters faced 12-mile tailbacks on Thursday morning after a speedboat fell off its trailer and clipped a lorry.
The incident occurred at 3.30am at junction 8, where the entry slip road and one lane of the carriageway was shut until 7.45am when the boat was recovered.

According to Get Surrey, one user joked: "Has Noah finally sent his arc after the rain."
Speaking to the Evening Standard, a spokesman for Highways Agency England confirmed the incident, and said it attended the scene along with officers from Surrey Police.
The spokesman said: "There was an incident on the M25 near junction 8 which occurred at 3.15am and it involved a collision between two vehicles, one of which was a HGV that was carrying a large boat.
