An Irishman visiting Abu Dhabi took his taxi driver to the Ferrari World theme park after discovering the man had been driving tourists to the attraction since it opened but had never been himself.

Generous Liam Murphy, a test engineer from Cork, took the taxi from Dubai to Abu Dhabi where he struck up conversation with Indian driver Shakiha.

According to Breakingnews.ie, during their conversation, Shakiha told Liam that he had been working in the UAE for 14 years.

When Liam discovered that he usually waits up to four hours at the theme park for his customers to come out, he bought Shakiha a £43 ticket to join him.

Writing on his Facebook page, Liam said: "Got a taxi from Dubai to Abu Dhabi today. Indian taxi driver living here 14 yrs yet was never in Ferrari World. He was going to wait in the car for 4 hrs. Today I made his dreams come true for the laugh....'I will pray God for you sir'....some craic with the hoore all day. His first ever roller coaster ride was on the fastest in the world. 'I do not feel well sir'. Shakiha will sleep well tonight".

Shakiha's first experience at a theme park was on the world's fastest rollercoaster.

Mr Murphy told Breakingnews.ie: "I bought him some pizza on the way home. He was delighted with the day out."

Formula Rossa reaches a speed of 240km/h in five seconds.

The Ferrari World website states: "You'll launch 52 meters into the sky before flying through chicanes inspired by some the world's most famous race tracks.

"Cross the finish line with an adrenaline rush worthy of a Grand Prix – screams of joy and excitement can be heard from the other side of the park!"
