Chester Zoo named one of the best in world by Tripadvisor
Tripadvisor has just named Chester Zoo as one of the top zoos in the world in their recent Traveller's Choice Awards.
Chester was the only zoo in the UK to make it into the top ten this year, coming in at seventh place with San Diego Zoo in the United States topping the list.
Other zoos to feature in the top ten include Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz, Spain and Singapore Zoo which came in at second and third respectively.
Chester Zoo was also named as the UK's best zoo, closely followed by Colchester Zoo and Blackpool Zoo.

Managing director at Chester Zoo, Jamie Christon, said: "We're thrilled that the public have named us as the UK's best zoo for the second year running.
"Chester Zoo is constantly raising the bar to ensure visitors have a very memorable day out. Indeed we've just unveiled phase one of a new £40m development, Islands, which will be a real game-changer for zoos in the UK."
In the European category of the awards the UK had more zoos make the list than any other European country with eight from the UK in the top 25.
Tripadvisor spokesman James Kay, said: "These awards are based on the millions of reviews and opinions written by our global community of travellers and with the schools breaking up for summer in a matter of days, these winners should serve as great inspiration for a fantastic family day out."
Chester Zoo welcomes around 1.4 million visitors each year and is home to more than 12,500 animals.
The zoo has also just opened the first stage of its Islands project which will see the sounds, smells and sights of South East Asia brought to the Cheshire countryside.
