Former Blue Peter presenter John Noakes has been found alive after he went missing in Majorca, Spain, on the hottest day of the year.
His wife, Vicky, appealed for information on his whereabouts after he failed to return to their home in Andratx after a walk on Tuesday 30 June.
Police started a searching for Mr Noakes, 81, who is suffering with Alzheimer's disease, and he was found nine hours after he went missing.
According to ITV News, Vicky said he was dehydrated and had been taken to hospital for checks.
Speaking to the Mirrorafter John went missing earlier, Vicky said: "I'm sure he'll turn up. It's just that he's gone missing on the hottest day of the year so far."
According to the Standard, a local police officer said on Tuesday morning: "We've been told he's suffering Alzheimer's and disappeared from his home about a mile from Andratx around 8.30am this morning.
"He apparently does occasionally go walking down to Andratx so we're looking along the route he'd normally take.
"The worrying thing obviously is his state of health and the fact he left home with nothing but the clothes he was wearing and temperatures at the moment are around 95 degrees."
"The emergency services have been wonderful and I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who's shown their concern.
"He was found very near the road in a sort of a storm drain that fills up when it rains.
"I imagine he just lost his bearings and strayed off the path and fallen somewhere."
Mr Noakes, pictured above right with former colleagues Peter Purves and Val Singleton, is still Blue Peter's longest-running presenter after clocking up 12 and a half years on the show in the 60s and 70s.
