Surfer suffers 'serious' bite in Australia shark attack
A surfer has survived a shark attack on the NSW coast in Australia.
According to Yahoo News, the man was bitten on his left arm and right hand in the attack at Old Bar beach near Taree about 3pm local time on Sunday.
He was taken to Manning Base Hospital with a "serious" bite to the arm, but is in a stable condition
ABC News reports that his injuries were described as non life-threatening.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Surf Life Saving NSW Duty Officer Darren James tweeted that NSW Police alerted surf lifesavers to the attack.

The news comes just a few days after a woman was killed by a shark while snorkelling in Maui, Hawaii.
According to NBC News, Margaret C. Cruse, 65, of Kihei, was found floating face down in the water near Ahihi Kinau Bay on the southwest coast of the island shortly before 8.30am on Wednesday.
