Pensioner burns to death in car fire



A pensioner has died after burning to death in his car outside a cemetery in West London.

Police say the 80-year-old was killed as flamed engulfed his silver BMW which he parked outside Greenford Cemetery just moments before.

The Evening Standard reports that police are not treating the fire as suspicious but the Met's Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.

Firefighters were called to the scene after the fire on Saturday and the man was pronounced dead at the scene, ITV News reports.

In 2013, a female driver had a lucky escape after her car suddenly burst into flames as she was driving through a remote beauty spot in Wales.

Pictures showed smoke pouring out from under the Land Rover Discovery's dashboard as the woman drove along the the A4059 through the Brecon Beacons.

When she pulled over, the vehicle immediately burst into flames. Fortunately she was able to make it out of the car unharmed.
