A man who was hit by a car and a bus in East Dulwich last night (Sunday) has died.

The man is thought to have been hit while walking under the railway bridge in Grove Vale, the Evening Standard reports.

A Met Police spokesman said: "We were called at 8.20pm to reports of a male pedestrian in collision with a car and then a bus.

Ambulances attended the scene of the accident but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Grove Vale was shut last night in both directions after the horrific incident.

In another tragedy last night, a man was killed at Old Street Station after being hit by a tube train as he tried to rescue a fellow passenger who had fallen onto the tracks, the BBC reports.

The man's death has been described as a 'tragic accident' by British Transport Police, who are not treating the incident as suspicious.
