A 'smelly poo' left in a British Airwaysplane toilet forced the flight to return to Heathrow just minutes after takeoff.
The BA flight to Dubai was aborted on the grounds of health and safety concerns after cabin crew tried to fix the pungent poo situation, to no avail.
The pilot reportedly told passengers he would be returning to Heathrow, and made it clear it was not a technical fault.
The plane took off on Thursday night, and the pilot decided to return to Heathrow about 30 minutes into the seven-hour flight while the plane was over Belgium.
According to the Daily Record, Councillor Abhishek Sachdev, from Hertfordshire, was on the flight. He explained: "[The pilot] said you may have noticed there's a quite pungent smell coming from one of the toilets.
"He said it was liquid faecal excrement, those are the words he used. He said it's not a technical fault with the plane, and he was very adamant about that."
He also tweeted about the situation, calling it "insane".
Insane! Our BA flight to Dubai returned back to Heathrow because of a smelly poo in the toilet! 15hrs until next flight... #britishairways

After returning to Heathrow, passengers faced a 15-hour wait until they could resume their journey.
According to the Daily Telegraph, a British Airways spokesperson said: "We're very sorry for the discomfort to our customers. We provided them with hotel accommodation and rescheduled the flight to depart the next day."
Passengers at the other end in Dubai had a 10-hour delay. One holidaymaker told Aol Travel: "We had a 10-hour delay in Dubai and asked what the problem was when checking in. We were told they didn't know and to speak to customer services.
"No one on our flight knew of the situation. We got home on Saturday and then saw the in the media the delay had been caused by a 'smelly poo'."
