Police had to be called in to deal with an angry badger that was terrorising a hotel in Stockholm.

The animal was caught on camera pacing around outside and charging towards the doors as trapped guests watched it from behind the glass on Friday morning.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Stockholm's police website said: "A crazy or stressed-out badger is preventing the staff and clients at a major hotel from leaving their cars, and from picking up their bags.

"The stressed animal was refusing to leave the place. So the police called in the local wildlife services to settle the problem."

The badger appeared at around 5am, and the hotel was on lockdown for around 40 minutes.

A police spokesman said the badger actually decided to leave of its own accord before a professional arrived to trap it.

He added that the badger may have been stressed from being woken up from hibernation and was hunting for food.

Kenth Larsson, the hotel's sales and marketing manager, said he had seen the hungry animal foraging in bins.

Speaking to the Independent, he added: "Then it tried to get into the hotel but the doors were still locked. It sat outside and waited so we could not open the entrance."
